“Red” is our 16.1 hh 2012 model gelding and Jen‘s main mount since the 2019 season. Originally born in South Dakota, he was purchased and started by one of the great futurity barrel racers, Leslie Willis. He was then purchased in 2018 and made the 900 mile move from SC to Shady Acres, and with seasoning, currently moving up in divisions in Wisconsin NBHA and IBRA. He loves the big outdoor pens up here and somewhat adjusting to these mid-west winters. He will be available for very specific students to learn to go faster and compete.
“Sugar” is our 14.3 hh 2013 model mare and everyone’s favorite magical unicorn. She was purchased in November 2020 and has become a very essential asset to Shady Acres. She will go whatever speed you need to learn barrel racing from beginning to fast. Her personality is as sweet and willing as they come. She is perfect for smaller youngsters as well as petite adults that want to learn speed events.
